Difference of a20 between protons and neutrons
Last modification: 1996/3/21
A figure (
GIF file of 4.1KB or
PS file of 37KB
)
presents a comparison of the values of a20 between protons
and neutrons for the ground states of 1029 even-even nuclei (denoted by plus
symbols) and the first-excited solution of 758 even-even nuclei for
HF+BCS with SIII force.
The r.m.s. difference is 0.012, while the largest
differences occur in the ground state of the nuclei indicated by
letters from A to F. We tabulate these nuclei below:
Symbol Nucleus a20neu a20pro
A 14Be 0.36 0.52
B 16Be 0.44 0.59
C 30Ar 0.28 0.18
D 30Mg 0.18 0.27
E 36Cr 0.36 0.28
F 28Ar 0.18 0.11
Among these nuclei, 30Ar, 36Cr, and
28Ar are outside the proton drip line. The absolute value
of the difference is smaller than 0.05 for 98.9% of the solutions.
