Conversion
between the total energy of the nucleus and the atomic mass excess
Last modification: 1996/3/25
The total energy of the nucleus is dented by
Ec,
which is the output of nuclear HF+BCS codes.
The nuclear binding energy corresponds to
-Ec.
The nuclear mass corresponds to
Ec + Z mp + N mn.
The atomic mass corresponds to
Z me - Be(Z) + (the nuclear mass).
The values of mp, mn, and me
are taken from Ref. [AW93]. We use
Be(Z)=14.33
Z2.39 eV.
The definitions of energy-related quantities like
S2p and S2n are given in Ref. [AW93b].
